There are many different ways we operate in the video production world at Moarly Creative. Most of the projects we do are full-service video production services. You come to us with an idea, and we take that idea all the way through the video process to completion. But I have also been hired by other production companies to only produce and conduct interviews. And in this case, with ChanceLight Northwater, I was hired solely as a videographer.

That means I wasn’t responsible for concepting, scripting, storytelling, or editing; I just showed up with a camera and shot. And for ChanceLight Northwater, my only job was to shoot b-roll. That means I didn’t have anything to do with the interviews; I only captured the cover video for the story. Once I finished, I handed off the footage, and another team handled post-production.

There are times we shoot video and hand it off and never see the result. But I was really curious to see how the ChanceLight Northwater video turned out, so I tracked it down on my own, and now I’m sharing it with you.

The students and staff at ChanceLight Northwater were extremely friendly and flexible, allowing me to get up close and personal during the video shoot. Many of the kids even started inviting me to take part in their activities, like strolling through the woods, looking at fossils, etc. I really enjoyed my time there.

That’s one of the things I love most about video production and content creation. You get to see things you normally don’t see, and you get to meet incredible people who are doing awesome things. No two days are ever the same when creating videos.
