As a proud Washington State University graduate, this video project is meaningful for me. I loved my time in Pullman, and I still have a deep appreciation for the WSU community. It’s a community that shows up for one another. That support is what led the WSU School of Design and Construction to hire me for an event highlight video at their Seattle mixer. Cougs choose Cougs first.
But this wasn’t just an ordinary Seattle mixer. The WSU School of Design and Construction was making a major announcement, and they wanted to capture the moment on video along with authentic interview reactions from attendees.

WSU School of Design and Construction Growth Plan
The WSU School of Design and Construction is highly regarded in the industry. To help meet workforce demand and support local communities, the school announced plans to grow its Construction Management program. The goal is to thoughtfully add students and faculty over the next several years.
That’s big news for those in the construction industry. That’s why we were there to capture every angle of the event, from the community and camaraderie to the keynote announcement and follow-up interviews with attendees. This project combines event coverage, storytelling, and authentic attendee interviews in one polished highlight video.
Event Video & Fundraising Video
While the primary goal was capturing the energy of the Seattle event, the video also supports broader advancement and fundraising efforts for the Construction Management program. That’s one of the strengths of thoughtful video storytelling. A single piece of content can serve multiple purposes across events, social media, and donor outreach.
The Seattle mixer included QR codes on signage and a fundraising appeal from the director of the WSU School of Design and Construction. The video also has life beyond the event, giving the program video content to share on social media and extending the reach of its message. It’s a great example of how one thoughtfully produced video can continue delivering value long after the event ends.
