People love working with and buying from businesses that care. I’m not telling you something that you don’t already know. And you’re probably one of those people as well. Otherwise, you likely wouldn’t be reading this right now. It’s not just okay to share what you or your company do for your community; it’s encouraged. And there’s no better way to get that out to the world than a community service video production.
Take the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) for example. They recently hired us for community service video production, focusing on their annual Rampathon event.
Every year, MBAKS members volunteer their time, skill and effort to build wheelchair access ramps for families that can’t afford to build one themselves. On top of that, sponsors like Dunn Lumber provide all the materials free of charge. The ultimate goal of Rampathon is to ensure that everyone has a happy, healthy place to call home. It’s a really incredible program and it just celebrated its 30th year.
To highlight our community service video production, MBAKS asked us to cover their featured ramp build. We met volunteers from Shirey Home Pro as they built a ramp for a little boy named Frankie and his family in Renton. Frankie has a rare genetic condition that keeps him in a wheelchair for now. Leading up to Rampathon, the family had to bounce Frankie down the front steps to get him out of their house. Now, after the generosity of MBAKS and Shirey Home Pro, Frankie and his family can get out into the world smoothly and safely.
Community service video production is a great opportunity for storytelling. There is heart behind volunteering and getting out into the community. And in the case of MBAKS and Rampathon, there is a powerful story about Frankie and his family. It’s unforgettable content and there is nothing more impactful than that.
There is nothing wrong with making anonymous donations. Or not having cameras every time you volunteer. But it’s also okay to be proud and showcase the work you do in your community. It’s not boastful. It’s real, authentic and powerful. And you honestly can’t find more valuable content than that.
