The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) is the oldest and largest homebuilders association in the United States. But that doesn’t mean they’re not looking to grow, especially in different demographics. That’s why MBAKS turned to our video production and content creation company to create a member testimonial video series aimed at “members of tomorrow”.
Yes, the Master Builders Association is a homebuilders association, but it is also so much more than that. The organization is active in community service with events such as Rampathon. They are busy with government affairs. The non-profit provides continuing education, health benefits, and so much more.
MBAKS Video Production
In more simple terms, there’s purpose and meaning behind every MBAKS membership. It was our job to dive deeper into each member’s journey and find the heart in their story.
Our video production team used three shoot days to capture the interviews and b-roll needed to properly tell each story. That included meeting each member at a job site and also capturing them at an MBAKS event in Seattle. The goal was to show each in their professional and personal setting — since the organization is about so much more than making money.
Member Testimonial Videos
I am an MBAKS member. It’s one of the many associations I take part in. In a strange turn, I ended up in front of the camera during this project as well. I’m typically conducting interviews and tackling storytelling behind the scenes. In my member testimonial video, I shared my personal experience of creating and building friendships by attending MBAKS events.
Another interviewee, Hayley Mascaro, shared that she was raised in poverty and she uses that past to help others presently and aims to do even more in the future. MBAKS is an outlet for her to achieve her goals.
Drew Katona of CADRE General Contractors talked about being a single father and how he needs to spend his time wisely, and it’s worth his effort every time he attends an MBAKS event. Plus, he likes having access to political leaders so he can have an impact on codes and regulations.
Awards were the driving force for Amanda Kratochvil to join MBAKS, but she found so much more once she became a member. In her video, she shares that she has earned certifications through the organization, and she has built a strong community of like-minded individuals.
Deliverables
Content is king in today’s world, especially video content. That’s why we created a ton of content for the MBAKS member testimonial video series. We created a minute-and-a-half feature video, a shorter 30-second version, and a 15-second video for each of the four interviewees. We delivered the videos in 16:9 and 9:16 formats, optimizing them for use across different platforms in various ways. That allows MBAKS to reach different audiences in the process.
On top of social media, the member testimonial videos are displayed on monitors inside the MBAKS lobby and in new member acquisition email campaigns. The organization is truly seeing its return on investment for this project.
Member Testimonial Videos Response
The MBAKS member testimonial videos premiered during the organization’s annual gala. I wasn’t able to attend but Colby Goodman, director of membership growth and experience at MBAKS, shared: “The videos were very well received…Very classy, fresh, modern, and most importantly, real!”
